Sunday, May 3, 2009

Only once in a very long time comes a piece of poetry which makes you sit up and take notice, and then makes unsettled and restless as well. Here is one such song, a piece of sheer poetry which is more like a dragon breathing fire through its flaring nosetrills.

This song his heavy in tatsam hindi and is from the hindi movie Gulaal (an equally disturbing masterpiece). However I will have serious objections if someone says this is a Bollywood product. A typical bollywood song is more with words like dil, dhadkan, saajan, ishq, piya etc etc . This song is a warcry, a challenge thrown by the Indian Cinema!

Looking at the great battle of Indian democracy, how true it feels : Aarambh hai Prachand!

Enjoy a masterpiece by a gifted poet , Piyush Mishra....

If you haven't watched Gulaal yet , watch it !
Good cinema should be encouraged.

I absolutely agree! The song is like a war cry, and very suited to present day situations...

Gulal was good but left me depressed :(

I agree good cinema should be encouraged. And one thing I loved in Gulal was the lyrics...checking your You Tube link, maybe I'll get the other Gulal songs too.

Yes the other poet was Dinkar, who wrote lines like :

Incidentally, in the movie there is an ode to Dinkar, a full recital of Dinkar's poems from Rashmi Rathi ...

I was awed by the song, and its tone. Piyush has done wonders, He lived the role rather than merely playing it.
